Behind the Design: Guild Boot Collection
Ever wonder what it's like to design this season's must-have shoes? From trend research to sketches to samples, Senior Design Director Danielle Kalish and her team puts their passion for must-have style and unbelievable comfort into every pair.
Here, Danielle takes us behind the design of our new favorite ankle boots for women, the Guild 2, and knee high boots for women, the Guild tall. With standout details, the same almond toe shape, and the just-right heel height, you’ll love wearing these ankle booties and tall boots all season long.
What makes these boots special?
“The inspiration for the Guild Tall and the Guild 2 bootie was to tell the story between the high and low boot shaft heights. We know that this soft almond toe shape is so lovely, it looks good on everyone, and it has a really wearable heel height at just around 2 inches.”
“The look of the season is really the tall shaft boot, and we love that we could do it in wide calf and wide width. It comes in every different size range so you can really find your perfect fit.”
“And then you get the same look with the detailed hardware on the heeled ankle boots, so you have that little hint of mixed croco and ornamentation around the top. Honestly, you need both in your closet.”
How would you recommend styling it?
“For the Guild Tall, I feel like everybody’s talking about skinny jeans coming back, and it’s probably because of the resurgence of tall boots for women. It just looks great tucked into a tall shaft boot. So, I would do a skinny jean with an oversized blazer or a sweater, and I also feel like a dress or skirt moment would look great.”
“For the Guild 2 styling, I feel like this is also very versatile but I like this style more with a straight-leg jean or a dress of some kind, maybe a maxi or a midi dress.”
